| The Dream |

I had to post about my dream the other night for two reasons. For one, I want to remember it. Secondly, it's fucking hilarious.
So I'm at my house, and for some reason Gates McFadden and the dude who played The Traveler (see Star Trek: TNG) are staying at my house. And I'm really excited because Dr. Crusher was always one of my favorites. Well in the dream I pulled out my collection of TNG paper plates. They're like those kid party plates with cartoons on them, only they're of the crew of TNG. (((Side note: I never had these plates. Never even seen them. As far as I know they don't exist))) And I go up to the Traveler and tell him I want Gates McFadden to sign the one that's got her picture on it. And he says something like "good luck with that." So I'm confused, but I decide to ask her anyway. AND SHE WON'T SIGN THE FUCKING PLATE! No explanation, just "no." And I'm freaking out and really upset because Gates McFadden won't sign her TNG party plate.
And then I woke up. I haven't even watched TNG in months and I have this dream? But I looked up on one of those dream interpretation websites that sometimes a celebrity in your dreams can have something to do with their name. So I looked up "gate," and it said that closed gates can mean apprehension and indecision about things in your life, or something along those lines. Tyler was here when I looked it up and we both looked at each other and said "closed gate?" "CLOSED GATES!"
Funny. And weird. But mostly funny. |

Anybody remember senior year (mine that is, 2004) at Bard when we mixed sweet tea with rum? Well, I've done it again. I just got a sweet tea from Steak 'n Shake that was so sweet I had to cut it with something. Since rum is my answer for most things I went with it. And I have just determined the name for this marvelous albeit strange tasting concoction: The Blackbeard.

President Bush is speaking at Furman's graduation. My mother is pissed. Rightfully so. She is writing them a letter stating that she has never been disappointed in her alma mater until now. I wonder what kind of protests might happen? I would totally do it myself if I didn't feel bad for the kids just trying to graduate. |
